Job Description

Maple Armor Technologies Inc., founded in 2011, is a Canadian designer, manufacturer and supplier of UL/ULC/FM listed addressable, intelligent fire alarm and detection systems. We serve the Americas market with a primary focus on North America. Our head office consists of a brand new 80,000 square foot facility located on the south shore of Montreal, in Brossard Quebec. It houses our Sales, Service & Marketing, Research & Development teams as well as our quality control labs for multiple product lines that will be produced in the near future.

Position Summary & Objectives

Due to our consistent growth and demand in the market, we’re looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) to cover this area. The primary responsibility of the BDM is to be the technical/electronic lead for its territory’s fire alarm projects. The BDM will be in contact with a team of multidisciplinary Product Development and Electronic Engineers located in Montreal and will be responsible for the overall development and system integration activities for electrical engineers, agents, and electrical distributors.

This position is Remote but located in the Maritime Region to facilitate consistent client facing meetings/visits and ensure sales growth and quarterly objectives are met for this region.

Responsabilities
  • Define project outlines through design requirements and specifications to meet customer needs.
  • Develop and analyze electrical design concepts.
  • Ensure electrical engineer designs meet our product requirements. (Functional, cost, quality, safety and reliability.)
  • Provide proper documentation and details to customers.
  • Visit engineering firms to educate them on our products.
  • Support ESD installers in their installation needs: programming, suggestions and demonstrate benefits of using Maple Armor Technologies Inc. brand.
  • Provide clear communication to their technical team members.
  • Develop and expand its market area by finding and creating new opportunities.
Education, Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in fire alarm sales and electrical project design project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, leading projects, and meeting timelines.
  • You are a problem solver and have demonstrated ability as a leader in finding solutions for various product related issues.
  • Must have the ability to enable our partners/distributors to grow market share and business in their area.
  • Demonstrated technical coaching/training and mentoring skills.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in sales, electrical project design and coaching/training.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time, primarily locally in the assigned geographical territory, with occasional overnight and long-distance travel.
  • Experience in fire alarm engineering design with the ability to read/interpret electrical drawings and adjusting electrical design flaws is a must.
  • Knowledge of Fire alarm sales and marketing tactics is a major asset.

Responsabilities

This position’s responsibilities are the following but are not limited to:

  • Full-cycle accounting
  • Post transactions: AR/AP/Receive payments, etc
  • Create sales invoices and collect funds
  • Prepare checks and payments
  • Track and reconcile bank statements
  • GST/QST reports
  • Prepare credit card summary
  • Assist in preparing payroll
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing

Education, Skills and Experience
  • 2 years accounting experience

Job Description

Maple Armor Technologies Inc., founded in 2011, is a manufacturer and supplier of UL/ULC/FM listed intelligent fire alarm and detection systems serving the Americas market with primary focus on North America. We have now opened our brand new 80,000 square foot facility in Brossard Quebec, nearby Montreal, which houses its Research & Development team and quality control labs for multiple product lines to be produced at this facility.

Responsabilities
  • Perform inspections, ULC-S536 annual inspections, service calls and service on Maple Armor and non-Maple Armor products.
  • Produce inspection reports in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers as required.
  • Provide operational training to end-users
  • Ensure our customers and end-users have a positive experience working with Maple Armor
  • Read and understand installation and maintenance manuals
Education, Skills and Experience
  • At least 1 or 2 of years experience in a similar field is an asset.
  • Degree in electronics or equivalent from an accredited college/university or documented and demonstrated professional qualification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is an asset.
  • Ability to handle equipment and tools weighing up to 70 pounds and to climb ladders and scaffolding
  • Solid knowledge of ULC standards and NBC codes concerning fire alarm systems (asset)
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license (class 5 required)
